From the South Okanagan Flames: The South Okanagan Flames will be playing their last home game of the season this coming Monday June 20th at 730pm at Memorial arena in Penticton. The fans have been wonderful and as a Thank You for their continued loyalty the game will be free of charge; however the Flames will be raising money through donations that will be accepted at the door to support a fellow Lacrosse player 18 year old Kody Ramsay from Abbotsford diagnosed recently with Cancer (Recurrent Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma). Kody was—until an injury sidelined him—an active participant in the Lacrosse scene and has been battling this disease for more than 9 months. Kody and his family have had to deal with lengthy stays at Vancouver General and have not had an easy time of it. Kody is also the nephew of South Okanagan Flames Presidents Kevin and Myrna Harms. The event should be a lot of fun as the product on the floor has been great this year and exceeded expectations given our first full year in Penticton. The Flames will be hosting the Vernon Tigers for their only visit this season. The Flames are currently sitting tied for 5th spot in the Thompson Okanagan Junior Lacrosse League standings and are looking to improve on their position for the playoffs.

A quick note re: one schedule change:
Sunday June 26th (at Memorial in Penticton) ... game is rescheduled to Saturday June 11th (no other changes to venue) because of ICE issues.
As well (although this is NOT a change in the schedule) anyone planning on attending the Friday, June 3rd double-header in Armstrong might want to show up a few minutes early. If everyone (teams and referees) arrives early and agree the game might start closer to 6:00 pm. That way the Seniors will be able to start their game at 8:00 pm.
Have a great May long weekend everyone!!

The 2009 All-Star game was hosted by the Chilliwack Minor Lacrosse Association and the Chilliwack Senior "B" team. It was held on July 1st at the Prospera Centre.
Our boys did fantastically and did the TOJLL proud! Our representatives this year were runners:
#12 Armstrong Shamrocks - Mike Belanger
#7 Kamloops Rattlers - Brett Baker
#16 Kamloops Venom - Jamie Forster (1A)
#7 & #8 Kelowna Warriors - Vic Wiens (1G, 1A) & Braden Renner (1G, 1A)
#21 Rutland Raiders - Ryan Phillips
#11 South Okanagan Flames - Tyler Prentice (3G, 3A)
As well as from the South Okanagan Flames:
Goaltender - Rory McDowell … #53 (1A)
Coach - Geoff Goodman
We had a smaller contingent this year since the Island wasn’t able to make it last year and wanted a larger presence … but our 7 out of 21 players racked up (5G, 7A) in the 15-10 loss.
